On Thursday, 30th May, instead of our usual discussional Bible Study we will have a visiting speaker.

Kevin Roy

Dr. Kevin Roy has been pastor of Muldersdrift Union Church since 2007, and is a former missionary evangelist ( 8 years with the Dorothea Mission) and theological college lecturer (17 years at Cape Town Baptist Seminary).

Kevin has a deep interest in church history (the subject of his lectureship for many years) and is author of a book on the history of the Christian church in South Africa, Zion City RSA.

We look forward to a special evening. All welcome.

The next of our periodic supper meetings will be held on Friday, 25th January at half past six. All are welcome (but ideally let us know you’re coming).

The after-supper speaker will be Bill Coates who, from studios in Windermere, sends out Christian programmes for broadcasting in many parts of the world. He’ll talk about the origins and the development of this project which has been running now for over forty years.

This year we have already had a Christmas event in the form of a weekday light lunch at which Allan and Mo Willis displayed and talked about their collection of Victorian Christmas cards.

Victorian Christmas Card

Under the title, “The First 75 Years of the Christmas Card”, those present heard of the development of this still-popular means of sending greetings from the 1840s onwards.

Dates and time to remember

Carol Service: Sunday, 23rd December, 6.30 p.m.

Christmas morning service: 10.00 a.m.

We wish everyone a Happy Christmas, and amid the prevailing secularisation of the season may we always give priority to the memory of God’s amazing gift of His Son.

Please Note: This meeting will now be combined with a Supper at 6:30. The talk will follow the meal.

On Thursday, November 22nd at 6:30 pm, we are expecting a visit from representatives of the Slavic Gospel Association. Please do come and hear of the work the SGA are involved with, supporting national churches across many of the formerly communist countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Note for church members: Funds from our monthly “Mission Giving” day on 25th November will be given entirely to SGA.
